Even If It Is So
that it’s been sounding like dead crickets around TSR for the last month, we ask that you please forgive the short hiatus. Living everyday life has a way of taking focus away from posting goodness here for all the SoulReaderz.
Anyway, we’re back at it and a lot has been going on with TSR behind the scenes so here’s a quick rundown.
First up…TSR celebrated its first year anniversary back on October 12th and we posted about it and added download links to a great mix we put together of music we thought everyone should have a copy of from the past years best tracks. Make sure to check that one out and get your D/L on if you missed it.
Next we got some help out like shout from the homie @thisane on our new Banner & Logo.
We think they both look pretty slick and a lot better than the previous ones we created on our own. Hey, let’s just be honest about it, we have no Photoshop skills to speak of. Good thing thisane does though. Let us know what you think about them and click his Twitter link to hit him up if you would like him to throw some of his artistic magic your way.
In other news, TSR keeps growing and we greatly appreciate it. As of this post we have 9094 SoulReaders that actively stop by to check us out and from the last census we did, the better part are located on the US Eastern Seaboard, with Germany & the UK rounding out the rest of that number. Now that’s not to say the West Coast isn’t too far behind in that number or even a few other countries like South America, Australia, Africa and India aren’t on the rise either. We’re just glad that people come and read what we put out there, no matter where they are from.
Moving along, we’ve made some adjustments to one the pages at TSR recently as the Blog Info page has now become the Blog Info & Submissionz page. We took some time to add an email address to the page for artists to send music to for review.
So far we’ve gotten a few interests and will be getting that info out shortly, so keep sending stuff in. Trust that we will give that music a serious listen and make every effort to write something about it. May not be an in-depth posting (unless that’s what you’re looking for) but with outlets like our Facebook page or our BlipFM page we can certainly help get the word out about your sound.
Which brings us to another development with TSR’s growth. Have you checked our Facebook page yet? If so, have you become a fan of it yet? We’re still working out some special things to do with it that we don’t already do at TSR proper but one thing that has been a constant so far is the music we’ve posted there. Some of the posts are YouTube videos and some are songs we like a lot.
Make sure to check it out though as we’ve got a few ideas for it besides just having it as another place for our blog posts to go via Networked Blogs.
Last but certainly not least is the good news that TSR’s Know-Da-Ledge segment on Drop Beats Not Bombs with Molly & Lucia is back…with a vengeance!! This time around, all technical bugs are worked out and the format will be a tad different. Still gonna be playing the original songs, still gonna be asking the listeners to call in and guess what Hip-Hop or R&B song got sampled from it but instead of playing the entire original we’ll just play a snippet with the sampled part in it.
Hopefully that will help with the flow of the show. Plus you can always go to the Know-The-Ledge page here to listen to the original in its entirety as we’ll update it after every show. So make sure to tune into that every Monday Night between 8 – 11 with a replay every Saturday Night between 8 – 11 on WPVM .
Think that’s all we’ve got right now…oh, sorry one more thing. There are gonna be a few more posts before year-end too. Some things in the works with a few artists, so be on the look out next for an in-depth about saxophonist Marcus H. Mitchell and flautist Trey Eley‘ s Jazz Boyz Vol. One LP, another post about the homie @Dubbslane and my brother from another mother; @EverettJames who just tied the knot this past week! Drop by his Twitter page and tell him Congrats!
Til all that isht goes down, here’s another long overdue TSR SoulSampler…
